Third Party the lowest form of motor insurance cover. It covers loss or damage to other people and property. Third Party car insurance doesn't cover any personal losses you might incur.
If you believe your car not to be worth a great deal, then Third Party options can be a better level of cover, as you cannot claim for accidental damage or pay the excesses attached to it
Third Party Fire and Theft gives the same level of cover as standard third party, but gives additional cover if the car is stolen or catches fire (subject to any excesses that may apply). Both of these levels offer less cover than a comprehensive policy, and are normally priced as such.
Sometimes Third Party Fire and Theft can cost less than Third Party as some insurers prefer drivers to have the additional cover.
You are still able to build up no claims bonus on this type of policy.
Make sure you are fully aware of the differences between the levels of cover. When getting a quote, look at all 3 levels, as a higher level of cover may be only slightly more in cost, but can offer much more protection for your vehicle.
