FAQ

Will I lose all of my NCB after a claim?

Not necessarily. In the event of an accident were the insurer has paid out on your behalf, most insurers will step your no claims bonus (NCB) back 2 years. So if you had a full 3 years NCB, and had an accident, then at renewal you should still have 1 year.

If you have 4 or more years NCB, you can opt to ‘protect’ them. This is normally a small additional premium that will enable you to have a number of fault accidents whilst keeping that amount of bonus. The number of accidents you can claim for will be declared in your policy summary.

The Student Motor Quote Company can find you a quote if you have lost NCB, or wish to have your protected.
