Leaving the car at a home address - If you have a car, but only use it whilst at home in the holidays, insurance can be hard to find without paying for a whole year of cover. If during the times when it is not in use it is kept off the road, we can freeze your policy for FREE, and even still get your no claims bonus!
What is ‘freezing’ a policy?
We also refer to this as ‘suspension’, where by you can choose to effectively pause your policy for months at a time.
Firstly, you would proceed and buy a policy as normal, and either pay monthly or all in one go. When you wish to freeze your policy, simply return your certificate back to us with a covering letter explaining your request. To unfreeze, just give us a call.
You will still proceed to pay for the insurance during the suspended duration, however at the end of the year we will calculate how much time you haven’t used and discount this from your renewal quotation. If you suspend the policy for less than 6 months in total, we will offer you a years no claims bonus as well!
